Consomme And Meatball Soup

Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Chili powder 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Onion 1 Small, grated
  Fine bread crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Pine nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1 , slightly beaten
  Beef consomme 2 Can (20 oz)
  Water 240 Milliliter (2 Soup Cans)
  Bay leaf 1
  Dry sherry 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Mix the ground beef, salt, chili powder, onion, bread crumbs, pine nuts and egg and shape into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
Pour the consomme and water into a saucepan and add the bay leaf.
Bring to a boil.
Add the meatballs, several at a time.
Reduce heat and cover.
Simmer for 30 minutes.
Remove the bay leaf and stir in the sherry just before serving.
