Hearty Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
  Onion 7 Medium, coarsely chopped
  Butter 3 Tablespoon, melted
  Ground beef 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Canned tomatoes 30 Ounce (1 No. 2 1/2 Can)
  Canned beef bouillon 31 1⁄2 Ounce (3 Cans, 10 1/2 Ounce Each)
  Carrots 4 Medium, quartered
  Bay leaf 1
  Celery tops 4 , chopped
  Parsley sprigs 6
  Thyme 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Peppercorns 10
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Saute onion in butter in large skillet until transparent.
Add ground beef, cooking slightly.
Stir in remaining ingredients and 2 cans water; cook, covered, over low heat for 45 minutes.
Top with toast rounds; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
