Split Pea Soup
|Dried split peas||1 Pound, rinsed and drained|
|Smoked pork hocks||1 Pound (Meaty)|
|Chopped onion||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sliced pared carrots||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sliced celery||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dried marjoram leaves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Combine all ingredients in 5-qt. glass casserole.
Cover and microwave at high setting 50 minutes, or until pork is tender, stirring every 10 minutes.
Remove pork hocks.
Remove meat from bones.
Cut meat in bite-size pieces and return to soup.
Cover and microwave at high setting 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
