Potato Soup With Dumplings

Ingredients
  Red potatoes 12 Small (Irish Type, Very Small Ones)
  Sweet milk 1 Quart
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Butter 2 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Boiling water 1 Quart
Directions

Scrape potatoes and put whole into water.
Boil until almost done.
Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
Make dumplings of stiff dough as for biscuit; roll very thin and cut into 1-inch strips.
Drop into soup while boiling rapidly. (Let cook until dumplings are done.)
