Unsweetened apple juice
2 Cup (32 tbs)

1 Combine the pears, apple juice, and ginger in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, until the pears are very tender, 5-10 minutes (depending on the ripeness of the fruit). Let the mixture cool about 5 minutes.
2 Pour the mixture in batches into a blender and puree. Return the mixture to the pan and stir in the pear juice. Cook over low heat just until warm. Ladle the soup into bowls and sprinkle with the hazelnuts.
