Cover with clear plastic wrap; vent by leaving a small area unsealed at the edge of the 4-cup measure.
Micro-cook on 100% power (HIGH) for 1 1/2 minutes.
Crumble ground beef into the 4-cup measure.
Stir beef into partially cooked vegetables.
Micro-cook, uncovered, on 100% power (HIGH) for 1 1/2 minutes, stirring once to break up.
Drain off liquid.
Stir in tomato sauce, the 1/4 cup water, sugar, basil, salt, and garlic powder.
Micro-cook, uncovered, on 100% power (HIGH) for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes or till boiling.
Pour soup into a small vacuum bottle; seal.
Pack soup and a spoon to take along.
