Split Pea And Turkey Ham Soup
|Split green peas||12 Ounce (1 Package, Dried Ones)|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Diced cooked turkey ham||1⁄2 Pound|
|Onion powder||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Dried thyme leaves||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Freshly ground pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Chopped celery||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Peeled and sliced carrots||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Rinse split peas, soak them in cold water overnight; drain.
Put peas with remaining ingredients in a large saucepan.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
Stirring occasionally, simmer about 2 hours until peas are tender and turn pasty.
Cool and freeze.
