Split Pea And Turkey Ham Soup

Ingredients
  Split green peas 12 Ounce (1 Package, Dried Ones)
  Water 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Diced cooked turkey ham 1⁄2 Pound
  Onion powder 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried thyme leaves 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Freshly ground pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Chopped celery 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Peeled and sliced carrots 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Chopped onion 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Bay leaf 1
  Salt To Taste
Directions

Rinse split peas, soak them in cold water overnight; drain.
Put peas with remaining ingredients in a large saucepan.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
Stirring occasionally, simmer about 2 hours until peas are tender and turn pasty.
Cool and freeze.
