Apple Dessert Soup
|Canned pie sliced apples||20 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Apple juice||1 Quart|
|Canned whole cranberry sauce||1 Pound (1 Can)|
|Vanilla bean/Cinnamon stick||2|
|Firmly packed light brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||4 Tablespoon|
|Whipped cream||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Mix first 5 ingredients in saucepan.
Bring to boil and simmer, covered, 10 minutes.
Mix cornstarch with water.
Add to fruit mixture.
Bring to boil, stirring.
Boil a few minutes, or until clear and slightly thickened.
Remove vanilla bean, pour mixture into serving bowl and sprinkle top lightly with granulated sugar.
Cool; top each serving with dab of whipped cream.
Sprinkle with ground nutmeg or cinnamon.
