Hearty Split Pea And Ham Soup

Ingredients
  Split peas 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Ham bone 1
  Water 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Chopped carrot 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Chopped celery leaves 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Chopped fresh parsley 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Basil 1 Teaspoon
  Allspice 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
  Chopped raw spinach 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Frozen green peas 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

1. Place split peas in large soup pot with ham bone. Add water.
2. Saute carrots, onion, and celery in margarine until tender. Add to peas.
3. Add remaining ingredients except spinach and green peas. Bring to boil; cover and simmer 30 minutes.
4. Add spinach and green peas. Simmer 30 more minutes.
5. Remove ham bone and bay leaf.
