Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Chopped onion 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cubed raw potatoes 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sliced carrots 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Shredded cabbage 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Tomatoes 1 1⁄4 Can (12.5 oz) (Or 1 Large Can)
  Bay leaf 1 Small
  Dried thyme 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Dried basil 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 5 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Water 1 1⁄2 Quart
Directions

Saute beef and onion until slightly brown.
Add all other ingredients, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Cut cubes of Cheddar or Swiss cheese before putting soup into bowls.
