Curried Split Pea Soup
|Dried green split peas||16 Ounce, rinsed, drained, and picked over (1 Package)|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Boiling water||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Madras curry powder||2 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Carrots||6 , peeled, chopped|
|Celery ribs||2 , chopped|
|Seasoned salt||1⁄4 Teaspoon (Or More To Taste)|
|Freshly ground pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon (Or More To Taste)|
|Chopped canadian bacon||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1. In a 4- or 5-quart electric slow cooker, mix together all the ingredients except 1/2 tablespoon of the curry powder.
2. Cover and cook on the low heat setting 9 to 10 hours. Stir in the remaining 1/2 tablespoon curry powder. Add more seasoned salt and pepper to taste, if needed.
