Rich Split Pea Soup With Ham

Hi, I am chef Keith snow and I want to show you a delicious and healthy soup recipe with split peas with ham soup. Split peas are legumes and they are fabulous for nutrition.
Ingredients
  Carrot 1 Medium, large diced
  Onion 1 Cup (16 tbs), large diced
  Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
  Split peas 2 Cup (32 tbs), drained, rinsed
  Chicken broth 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Ham 2 Cup (32 tbs), diced
  Dried oregano 1 Teaspoon
  Fresh thyme 3 Tablespoon (In A Sache Bag)
Directions

1. Begin in a large pot at on that will hold at least two quarts. place the
olive oil, onions and carrot and sweat them over medium low heat until
tender; About ten minutes.
2. Add the peas at this time and allow them to be mixed thoroughly with the
vegetables and oil.
3. Now add the sache of thyme, broth, ham and oregano and cook covered over
medium low heat for thirty minutes or until the peas are soft.
4. Allow to rest for about a half an hour for the flavors to develop.
