Savory Split Pea Soup
|Hot water||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Dried split peas||16 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Bacon||1⁄2 Pound, diced|
|Chopped celery||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Shredded carrot||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Combine all ingredients in 4-quart casserole.
Cover with lid.
TO COOK BY INSTA-MATIC: Cook on COOK 2.
After time appears in display window, stir occasionally.
TO COOK BY TIME: Cook at HIGH 8 to 9 minutes and at MEDIUM-LOW 45 to 50 minutes.
TO COMPLETE: Peas should be tender.
Put mixture through food mill or puree in food processor or blender.
Reheat, adding additional water, if necessary.
