Potato Barley Soup

This Potato Soup is special . Unlike the normal potato soups , its enriched with barley and that's why its such an energizing appetizer. Try this Potato Soup yourself and let me know if you like it ! Your suggestions are welcome !
Ingredients
  Barley 1 Tablespoon
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Potatoes 6 Large, diced
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Onions 2 , chopped
  Salt To Taste
Directions

Soak the barley in water for one hour.
Melt the butter on a moderate fire, and add the onions and potatoes.
Stir briskly for five minutes, being careful that the potatoes do not turn red.
Add four cups of water and the barley.
Cover and cook on a low fire for about twenty minutes.
When the barley becomes tender, pass through a sieve.
Mash the barley and strain again.
Add salt and milk.
This soup will have a clear white color.
