Okra Soup

Ingredients
  Lean beef 2 Pound, cut into cubes
  Onion 1 , sliced
  Shortening 4 Tablespoon
  Water 12 Cup (192 tbs)
  Sliced okra 2 Cup (32 tbs), sliced
  Uncooked regular rice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), uncooked
  Sliced tomatoes 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Brown beef and onion in hot shortening.
Add water, salt, and pepper.
Let cook slowly until beef is tender .
Add okra, rice, and tomatoes.
Let cook until beef is very tender and vegetables are cooked
