Hearty Split Pea Soup

|Split peas||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Dried lean ham||2 Ounce, diced|
|Water||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Carrots||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Celery||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Celery leaves||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
|Parsley flakes||1 Teaspoon|
1. Place split peas and ham in large soup pot. Add water.
2. Saute carrots, onion, and celery until tender. Add to split peas.
3. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
