Zesty Shrimp Tempters
|Cider vinegar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Salt||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Black pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Whole allspice||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Whole cloves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Whole mustard seed||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Onions||3 Medium, sliced|
|Large fresh shrimp||4 Pound, cooked, peeled and deveined|
Combine the vinegar and water in a saucepan.
Bring to boiling.
Remove from heat and stir in salt, pepper, and sugar until dissolved.
Stir in the bay leaves, allspice, cloves, mustard seed, paprika, and onion.
Put cooked shrimp into a large bowl (not metal).
Add vinegar mixture and mix gently.
Cover; refrigerate 24 hours.
Before serving, drain shrimp thoroughly.
Arrange on a bed of frilly green lettuce leaves.
Accompany with fancy cocktail picks.
