Grilled Marinated Shrimp Skewers

How about some grilled shrimp and sausage skewers for lunch this weekend? The marinade in this recipe is easy and extremely tasty. This is an easy and satisfying meal to make.
  Shrimp 2 Pound, peeled, deveined
  Dry sherry 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Olive oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Paprika 1 Tablespoon
  Thyme 1 Teaspoon
  Garlic powder 1 Teaspoon
  Red chilli pepper flakes 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Smoked sausage 1 Large, sliced (like Kielbasa)
  Grape tomatoes 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), cubed
  Red onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), cubed

1. In a bowl, whisk together the sherry, oil, paprika, thyme, garlic powder, red chili flakes and black pepper.
2. Place the shrimp in a platter or bowl and cover with marinade. Marinate for 20 minutes.
3. While the shrimp is marinating, soak the wooden skewers (if using them).

4. Heat the grill on high and reduce heat. If using a charcoal grill, pile hot coals on one side using a metal tool.
5. Thread the shrimp, sausage, tomatoes and onions on the skewers.
6. Place the skewers on the grill and cook at low heat for about 6 minutes total.

7. On a serving platter, serve hot with any favourite dip.
