|Whole black peppercorns||5|
|Dried thyme leaves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
1. Rinse, wash and shell the prawns. Remove the central vein that runs along the back of the prawns.
2. In large skillet, combine 1 quart water, the on- ion, lemon, parsley, salt, peppercorns, bay leaf, and thyme. Bring to boiling, covered, over medium heat; simmer 10 minutes.
3. Add shrimp; return to boiling. Reduce heat, and simmer, covered, 3 to 5 minutes, or just until tender. Drain; let cool and chill till required
4. Use in any recipe that requires shrimp.
