Shrimp Marengo

Ingredients
  Bacon drippings 2 Tablespoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Onion 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Fresh mushrooms 1 Pound, sliced
  Canned italian style plum tomatoes 14 Ounce (1 Large Can)
  Canned tomato paste 6 Ounce (1 Can)
  Chicken broth 1 Can (10 oz)
  Monosodium glutamate 1 Teaspoon
  Oregano 1 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Crushed basil 1 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Hot sauce 3 Drop
  Shelled shrimp 2 Pound, deveined
Directions

Heat bacon drippings in large skillet; saute onion, mushrooms and garlic until mushrooms are tender.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken broth, mono-sodium glutamate, oregano, basil, bay leaf, salt, pepper, sugar and hot sauce; bring to a boil.
Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
Add shrimp; cook for 10 minutes longer or until shrimp are tender.
Serve over rice.
