Shrimp Au Gratin
|Shrimp||1 Pound, shelled and diced|
|Cottage cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Shredded cheddar cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes.
Combine half the bread cubes, shrimp and cottage cheese; spread in greased baking dish.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter; blend in flour and paprika to make smooth paste.
Add milk gradually; heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Add cheese; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese melts.
Pour sauce over shrimp mixture.
Top with remaining bread cubes; pour remaining melted butter over bread cubes.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
