Marinated Gingered Shrimp

Ingredients
  Frozen shrimp 1 1⁄2 Pound, shelled and deveined
  Soy sauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ginger root 3 Ounce, chopped
  Vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Sweet sake 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Thinly sliced green onion 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Cook shrimp as directed on package; drain.
Arrange shrimp in single layer in oblong baking dish, 12 x 7 1/2 x 2 inches.
Heat soy sauce to boiling; add ginger root.
Reduce heat; simmer uncovered until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 5 minutes.
Stir in vinegar, sugar, sake, salt and monosodium glutamate; pour over shrimp.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Remove shrimp from marinade with slotted spoon; arrange on serving plate.
Garnish with green onion.
