Marinated Shrimp

  Onions 2 Large, cut in rings
  Shrimp 5 Pound, cooked
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Salad oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Celery seed 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Capers 2 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Bay leaves 2
  Tabasco 1 Dash

Put a layer of onion rings and a layer of shrimp alternately in a bowl until all shrimp and onion are used.
Beat sugar, salad oil, salt and celery seed with an egg beater.
Add capers and bay leaves.
Pour over shrimp.
Marinate for 3 days, mixing twice a day.
Pour off liquid and serve.
