Caramel Shortbreads

Did you know that you can make caramel shortbreads without using eggs? Why clog your arteries with cholestrol when you can enjoy even better taste of caramel shortbreads without egg? Let me know how it turned out for ya.
Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄2 Pound
  Castor sugar 1⁄4 Pound
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Flour 3⁄4 Pound
  Vanilla essence 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Heat butter carefully till light brown and allow to cool.
When cool, add baking powder, flour, sugar and vanilla and knead very well.
Make into small round balls and place on a greased baking sheet and flatten them by pressing with the hand.
Bake at 300° F till pale brown.
