Almond Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients
  Unsifted flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 1 Teaspoon
  Margarine/Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs), softened
  Confectioners sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Condensed mince meat 9 Ounce, crumbled (1 Package)
  Almond extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Almond frosting 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sliced almonds 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Additional Required)
Directions

Preheat oven to 375°.
Stir together flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; set aside.
In large mixer bowl, beat margarine and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg; mix well.
Stir in mincemeat, 1/2 cup almonds and extract.
Add flour mixture; mix well (dough will be stiff).
Roll into 1 1/4-inch balls.
Place on un-greased baking sheets; flatten slightly.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool.
Frost with Almond Frosting and garnish with additional almonds if desired.
