Poppy seed Butter Slices
|Softened butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||2 3⁄4 Cup (44 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||2 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||1 Teaspoon|
|Poppy seed||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla extract.
Mix soda, flour, salt, and spices: stir in.
Stir in poppy seed.
Mix thoroughly with hands.
Mold into long smooth roll about 2 inches In diameter.
Wrap in heavy-duty aluminum foil: chill several hours or overnight.
Cut in thin slices with a fluted vegetable slicer.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
