Maple Scotch

The maple scotch is a butter and maple sugar candy. A cooked dessert, the maple scotch is delicious and crunchy. Simple to prepare, this homemade maple scotch is a special hit with kids!
Ingredients
  Maple sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vinegar 1 Teaspoon
  Butter 4 Tablespoon
Directions

MAKING
1.In a boiler, boil together the maple sugar, water and vinegar to the stiff-ball stage (246° F.).
2.Then add the butter and cook to the medium-crack stage (280° F.).
3.Turn into a well buttered pan.
4.Mark while still warm, and when cold break into pieces.
SERVING
5.Pour over fillets, eggs, or lamb
