|Sugar||125 Milliliter (1/2 Cup)|
|Baking powder||4 Teaspoon|
|Shortening||75 Milliliter (5 Tablespoon)|
|Currants||125 Milliliter (1/2 Cup)|
|Milk||175 Milliliter (2/3 Cup)|
Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together.
Cut in shortening thoroughly.
Add currants and stir in milk.
Turn out on floured board and knead.
Pat out to desired thickness.
Cut into 4 rounds, place on baking sheet and bake until nicely browned at 450F (230C).
