Ingredients
  All purpose flour 500 Milliliter (2 Cups)
  Sugar 125 Milliliter (1/2 Cup)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon
  Shortening 75 Milliliter (5 Tablespoon)
  Currants 125 Milliliter (1/2 Cup)
  Milk 175 Milliliter (2/3 Cup)
Directions

Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together.
Cut in shortening thoroughly.
Add currants and stir in milk.
Turn out on floured board and knead.
Pat out to desired thickness.
Cut into 4 rounds, place on baking sheet and bake until nicely browned at 450F (230C).
