Susan'S Scones

Susan's cones are buttery raisin or currants scones, that can also be prepared with cheese. Baked with sugar, flour, eggs, milk and butter. Comfortinga nd snacky, susan's scones are perfect for tea or coffee.
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Egg 1 (Plus Milk Equaling 1 Cup)

Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Cut in butter until crumbly.
Stir in handful of raisins or currants or cheese (optional).
Stir the egg in a measuring cup and add milk to it so the total in the cup equals 1 cup.
Stir with fork into the flour mixture until everything is moist.
Turn out onto floured surface and pat into 1 inch thickness.
Cut into approximately 2 inch rounds with cookie cutter.
Put onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 425°F for 12 minutes.
Cool on rack.
