Soda Farls Or Griddle Scones
|Plain flour||10 Ounce|
|Bread soda||1 Teaspoon|
1 Preheat a griddle or heavy frying pan.
2 In a bowl, sieve and sift all the dry ingredients.
3 Add enough buttermilk to make a soft, but manageable dough.
4 Divide into four and roll each piece lightly in flour.
5 Shake a little flour onto the griddle and place the four scones on it.
6 Turn over after 7 minutes or when the top of the scone feels warm.
7 Cook a further 7 minutes.
8 Cool on a wire tray.
9 These are best eaten the day they are made, served with butter and jam.
