Baked Wholemeal Scones
|Unsifted meal/1 cup unsifted meal and 1 cup flour||2 Cup (32 tbs) (whole meal)|
|Baking powder||4 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||2 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Shredded candied peel/Preserved ginger||2 Tablespoon|
Mix the dry ingredients well together.
Rub in butter and add sugar and peel, or ginger.
Blend into a soft dough with the milk, which is added slowly.
Pat out the dough on a floured board and cut into shapes.
Brush over with milk.
Bake at 450° F for 10 minutes.
