Topping For Scones
|Flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange rind||1 Teaspoon, grated|
|Chopped cherries and almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Halve the cherries and chop the almonds.
Sieve the dry ingredients together.
Rub in the butter and add the orange rind, orange juice, chopped cherries and almonds.
Sprinkle this mixture over the dough and press well down.
Bake at 400° F for 25 - 30 minutes, or until done.
Cut into squares.
Serve hot for lunch, tea or breakfast.
