Scones In Large Quantity

Ingredients
  Self raising flour 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter 3 Ounce
  Milk 1⁄2 Pint
  Water 1⁄2 Pint
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (For Glazing)
Directions

Sift flour, sugar and salt into basin.
Rub butter into dry ingredients.
Mix to soft dough with combined milk and water, adding extra milk, if necessary.
Knead dough, roll out and fit into greased 10 in. x 11 in. baking dish.
With sharp knife cut dough into approximately 36 squares.
Glaze with milk, bake in hot oven, Mark 7, 425°F., 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes approx. 3 dozen.
Add 4 to 6 oz. sultanas to dry ingredients before adding the liquid; increase sugar to 3 oz.
