Wholemeal Drop Scones
|Strong plain flour||6 Ounce (175 Gram)|
|Whole meal flour||6 Ounce (175 Gram, Plain)|
|Fresh yeast||1⁄2 Ounce (15 Gram)|
|Warm water||1⁄2 Pint (300 Milliliter)|
|Milk||7 Fluid Ounce (200 Milliliter)|
|Soda bicarbonate||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Mix the flours and pour half into a mixing bowl.
Mix the yeast with the water until well combined.
Pour into the centre of the flour and leave until frothy.
Place in the bowl and gradually mix in the remaining flour, using the double-bladed chopping knife.
Pour the milk onto the dough through the feed tube and mix until the batter is smooth.
Lastly, add the salt and bicarbonate of soda.
Place spoonfuls of the yeast batter on a greased griddle or frying pan and cook over a low heat.
When bubbles appear on the surface turn over and cook on the other side.
