Program calendar is continuous. 12--15 week certificate in practicum (work experience). 15-week diploma in professional restaurant patisserie. 15-week diploma in professional pastry and bread. 15-week diploma in professional culinary.

140 full-time. 63 are under 25 years old; 73 are between 25 and 44 years old; 4 are over 44 years old.


5 total: 4 full-time; 1 part-time. 3 are industry professionals; 3 are culinary-certified teachers; 1 is a pastry chef instructor. Prominent faculty: Tony Minichiello; Christophe Kwiatkowsky; Ian Lai; Marco Ropke. Faculty-student ratio: 1:12.

Special Programs

Culinary competitions, work experience in catering setting, edible schoolyard project.

Typical Expenses

Application fee: Can$50-$100. Program-related fees include Can$400-$495 for knife kit; Can$400 for chef's uniform; Can$110 for text book culinary; Can$135 for pastry toolkit (supplement); Can$132 for text book-pastry.

Financial Aid

In 2005, 1 scholarship was awarded (award was Can$2500). Program-specific awards include see our Web site for details. Employment placement assistance is available.


Average off-campus housing cost per month: Can$700.

Application Information

Students may begin participation in January, April, and September. Applications are accepted continuously. Applicants must interview; submit a formal application, letters of reference, an essay, English fluency, good health (confirmed by doctor).
