Oven Fried Scallops
|Salt and pepper||1|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Bread crumbs||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted|
If scallops are large, cut into cubes of about 3/4 inch size.
Season with salt and pepper.
Beat egg and water together.
Dip scallops in egg, crumbs and then into melted shortening.
Place in a shallow baking dish.
Bake in a hot oven (450°F.) 20 to 25 minutes.
