Golden Turnip Scallop
|Shredded yellow turnip||1 1⁄2 Pound (6 Cups, Raw)|
|Apple||1 , pared, quartered, cored and chopped|
|Brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Butter/Margarine||4 Tablespoon (1/2 Stick)|
1. In a 6 cup baking dish, add the turnips, ¾ of the chopped apples, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Mix well.
2. On top of this mixture, add another layer of apples and dot with butter or margarine. Cover with baking lid.
3. In a moderate oven at 350 Degrees Fahrenheit, bake for 1 ½ hours, until turnips are tender and soft.
4. Serve as a dessert with honey or maple sauce on the side for extra flavor
