|Vegetable shortening||3 Tablespoon, melted|
|Flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vegetable shortening||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
Combine egg, milk, and melted vegetable shortening.
Stir together dry ingredients; combine with egg mixture and beat until smooth.
Dip scallops in batter and drain off excess.
Fry, a few at a time, in deep vegetable shortening heated to 375° until browned, 2 to 3 minutes.
Drain on paper toweling.
