Sausage Spoon Dish

Ingredients
  Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2 , separated
  Sausage 1 Pound
  Cheese 4 Ounce, grated
Directions

Scald milk; add cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Let cool.
Add beaten egg yolks; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into greased 2-quart baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees.
Saute sausage in skillet until all fat is rendered; drain on absorbent paper.
Crumble sausage over cornmeal mixture.
Sprinkle cheese over sausage.
Bake for 20 minutes longer.
