Sausage And Chick Peas

Ingredients
  Italian sausage 1 Pound (sweet, hot, or half and half)
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Large, chopped
  Canned tomato sauce 8 Ounce (1 can)
  Parsley 1 Tablespoon, chopped
  Dried basil 1 Pinch
  Dried oregano 1 Pinch
  Canned chickpeas/Garbanzos 1 Pound (1 can, 2 cups)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Hot cooked rice/Cooked thin spaghetti 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Cut the sausages into ½ inch slice.

MAKING
2) In a non-stick pan, heat butter and sauté sausage until lightly brown on all sides.
3) Stir in the onions and more butter if needed.
4) Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until limp.
5) Add tomato sauce and the herbs, simmer the mixture for 5 minutes.

FINALIZING
6) Add the chickpeas or garbanzos the sausage mixture.
7) Cover the pan and simmer for 30 minutes.
8) Season with salt and pepper to taste.

SERVING
9) Serve the Sausage and Chick Peas hot with rice or spaghetti.
