Sausage And Split Pea Casserole

Ingredients
  Split peas 1 Pound, washed, drained
  Water 5 Cup (80 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pork sausage meat 1 Pound
  Minced onion 2 Tablespoon
  Seasoned salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Worcestershire 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Grated cheddar cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Cover peas with water; add salt and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 35 minutes, or until peas are just tender.
Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid.
Brown sausage meat, breaking up with fork.
Mix peas lightly with sausage and fat, pea liquid, and remaining ingredients except cheese.
Put in shallow baking dish.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake, uncovered, in preheated hot oven (400° F.) about 30 minutes.
Serves 6 to 8.
