Turkey Apple Sausage

Ingredients
  Slightly beaten egg white 1
  Soft bread crumbs 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Finely chopped peeled apple 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground sage 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground raw turkey breast/Lean ground raw turkey /lean ground beef 1⁄2 Pound
  Fresh sage leaves 1 Tablespoon (optional)
  Spiced turkey apple sausage 3
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

In a medium mixing bowl combine egg white, bread crumbs, apple, salt, sage, and pepper. Add ground turkey or beef; mix well. Shape into eight small patties, about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
Place sausage patties on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat for 4 minutes. Turn and broil for 4 to 5 minutes more or till no longer pink. Pat sausage patties with paper towels. Arrange on a serving plate. Garnish with apple slices and fresh sage leaves, if desired.
