Turkey Apple Sausage
|Slightly beaten egg white||1|
|Soft bread crumbs||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Finely chopped peeled apple||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Ground sage||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground raw turkey breast/Lean ground raw turkey /lean ground beef||1⁄2 Pound|
|Fresh sage leaves||1 Tablespoon (optional)|
|Spiced turkey apple sausage||3|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
In a medium mixing bowl combine egg white, bread crumbs, apple, salt, sage, and pepper. Add ground turkey or beef; mix well. Shape into eight small patties, about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
Place sausage patties on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat for 4 minutes. Turn and broil for 4 to 5 minutes more or till no longer pink. Pat sausage patties with paper towels. Arrange on a serving plate. Garnish with apple slices and fresh sage leaves, if desired.
