Apple Sausage Stuffing

  Sausage 1 Pound
  Diced bacon 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Onion 1 Large, chopped
  Chopped celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Mushrooms 1⁄2 Pound, sliced
  Apples 2 , cored and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  Chopped parsley 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sage 1 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1 Teaspoon
  Firm white bread loaf 1 , cut into 1 inch cubes
  Chicken broth 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste

In large skillet, fry bacon and sausage until crisp and brown.
Remove sausage and cut into 1" pieces.
Replace in skillet; add onion, celery, mushrooms, apples, parsley & herbs.
Saute' for 5 minutes.
Stir in bread cubes and broth.
Season with salt & pepper to taste.
Pour into a bowl; cover and cool.
Will stuff a 10 to 12 lb.turkey or bake in a 2-quart casserole for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
