Black Bean Sausage Chili

Ingredients
  Bulk italian sausage 1 Pound
  Garlic 3 Clove (15 gm), minced
  Chopped green pepper 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Canned black beans 15 Ounce, drained, rinsed (1 Can)
  Canned diced tomatoes 14 1⁄2 Ounce, undrained (1 Can)
  Canned whole kernel corn 11 Ounce, drained (1 Can)
  Tomato sauce 8 Ounce (1 Can)
  Canned tomato paste 6 Ounce (1 Can)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chili powder 1 Tablespoon
  Dried oregano 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried basil 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

In a 3-qt.saucepan over medium heat, brown sausage and garlic.
Add green pepper and onion.
Cook and stir until onion is tender; drain.
Add beans, tomatoes, corn, tomato sauce and paste, water, chili powder, oregano, salt, basil and pepper; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Garnish with cheese if desired.
