Sausage Apple Bake
|Bulk sausage||1 Pound|
|Shredded apple||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Dry bread crumbs||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Condensed beef broth||21 Ounce (Two 10 1/2 Ounce Cans)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sliced carrots||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Raw rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Combine sausage, apple, crumbs, onion, egg, and pepper; mix thoroughly.
Shape into 16 meatballs.
In oven-proof skillet, brown meatballs; pour off fat.
Stir in broth, water, carrots, and mace.
Bring to boil; stir in rice.
Cover; bake at 450°F. for 15 minutes.
Stir; arrange apple pieces between meatballs.
Cover; bake 10 minutes more or until rice is tender.
