Ingredients
  Pot roast 5 Pound (1 Whole)
  Vinegar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Monosodium glutamate 1 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
  Coarsely ground pepper 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Chopped onion 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Flour 1 Tablespoon (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
Directions

Brown meat in heavy kettle; drain off fat.
Put meat in roasting pan; add 3/4 cup water.
Cover; simmer 1 hour.
Remove meat and cut into 1/2-inch thick slices; return to kettle.
Combine 3/4 cup water and remaining ingredients, except flour.
Pour over meat.
Cover and simmer 1 hour and 30 minutes or until tender.
Strain and thicken gravy with flour.
Serve with noodles or rice.
