Sweet And Sour Beef Balls
|Ground beef||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Cracked pepper||To Taste|
|Salad oil||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Canned bamboo shoots||5 Ounce|
|Chicken bouillon||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Green peppers||3 Large|
|Monosodium glutamate||1 Teaspoon|
|Pineapple juice||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Vinegar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||2 Tablespoon|
Shape ground beef into walnut-sized balls.
Combine eggs, flour, salt and pepper; dip meatballs into flour mixture.
Fry in hot oil in skillet until browned; re- move meatballs.
Drain off all but 1 tablespoonful fat; add pineapple.
Cook"" covered, over medium heat for 10 minutes.
Rinse bamboo shoots thoroughly; drain.
Combine pineapple, bamboo shoots, bouillon, green peppers, monosodium glutamate and pineapple juice with sugar, ginger and vinegar; blend thoroughly.
Add cornstarch to soy sauce; stir until smooth.
Add cornstarch mixture to pineapple mixture; cook, stirring constantly, until sauce comes to a boil and is thickened.
Add meat- balls; simmer for 15 minutes.
Serve in chafing dish.
