Sauerbraten

Ingredients
  Beef rump 6 Pound
  Fat 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vinegar 5 Cup (80 tbs)
  Water 5 Cup (80 tbs)
  Onions 3 , sliced
  Lemon 1 , sliced
  Whole cloves 12
  Bay leaves 6
  Whole black peppers 6
  Salt 3 Tablespoon
Directions

Place meat in large bowl; add other ingredients.
Let stand 36 hours in refrigerator; turn occasionally.
Remove meat; brown in hot fat.
Add 1 cup vinegar mixture; cover; cook slowly 2 hours or till tender; add water if necessary.
