Tenderloin Sauce

Tenderloin Sauce is the liquid part in the Tenderloin preparation which is used to add flavor to the roasted tenderloin. Tenderloin sauce is prepared by sauting onions, garlic and mushrooms in butter which is then flavored by adding Worcestershire sauce and Italian dressing. Beef broth and flour is also added to this mixture in order to make it more tasteful and thick. The sauce is used for basting the roasted tenderloin and it is also poured over the baked dish prior to slicing and serving the tenderloin. Wine is also added in certain Tenderloin Sauce recipes. Popular variations to the original recipe include Beef Tenderloin with Port Sauce and Pork Tenderloin in Orange Sauce.
