Pork Sauce

Pork sauce is a condiment used for flavoring various American foods. This sauce imparts tangy flavor to the dishes and sometimes it is served as a side dish. Some of the well –known pork sauces include Pork loin sauce, pork chop sauce, pork verde sauce, etc.

Preparation Overview of Pork Sauce
There are many ways of cooking pork sauce. The choice of ingredients purely depends on the taste preferences of the eaters or chef. In a simple way a basting sauce can be prepared for pork chops using ingredients like honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and garlic cloves. This no cook sauce is usually poured over the meat before grilling.

Pork Sauce Recipe Variations

  • Port Wine Sauce – This is a classic sauce prepared by cooking the port wine with demi-glace (a classic sauce prepared by reducing a mixture of half brown stock and brown sauce). Butter is also swirled into the sauce towards the end of cooking for an added flavor. This sauce is poured over grilled steaks before serving.

  • Pork Chop Sauce – This sauce is prepared by combining dry mustard, honey and orange marmalade. These ingredients are cooked in a skillet over medium heat and ladled over pork chops before serving.

  • Sweet Pork Chop Sauce – This sauce is best served over noodles or freshly cooked rice. It is prepared using ingredients like pork chops, Heinz ketchup, dried mustard, Worcestershire sauce, water, brown sugar, onion, mushrooms, green pepper, and olive oil. Pork chops are sautéed until brown in olive oil and set aside. Green peppers, onions, mushrooms are also sautéed and set aside. Sauce is prepared by combining rest of the ingredients. The sauce is ladled over the pork chops and topped with onions, mushrooms and peppers. The pork chops are baked. The chop sauce is served fresh over a bed of freshly cooked rice or noodles.

  • Bercy Sauce – This is a popular pork sauce from the Bercy district of France. It is prepared by reducing the white wine with demi glace and chopped shallots. Demi-glace is added towards the end of cooking .Grilled steaks are teamed with this sauce which is considered equally good for other meats too.

  • Charcuterie Sauce – This sauce is considered good for grilled steaks and it is prepared by cooking demi-glaze, chopped onions, butter, white wine, mustard, sugar, and lemon juice. The sauce is garnished with cornichons and served over grilled steaks.

  • Lyonnaise Sauce – This sauce is prepared using white wine vinegar, and onions. It pairs well with roasted pork and is prepared by cooking demi-glaze, chopped onions, butter and white wine vinegar.

  • Chasseur Sauce – This is a classic French sauce which is prepared by sautéing shallots and mushrooms with white wine. This sauce is served over cooked pork and other game dishes.

  • Costillas Verde – This classic Mexican pork sauce involves ingredients like pork short ribs, green chile or stokes, raw potatoes, Habanero sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and shredded cheddar cheese. Pork short ribs are cooked in water and seasoned with garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Green chile is separately cooked in slow cooker. The cooked ribs are arranged in slow cooker, topped with raw potato cubes, and cooked green chile is spooned over it. The ribs are served after covering with green chile and this sauce is served with buttered corn and warmed tortillas.

  • Pork Gorgonzola Sauce – This is a gourmet dish which is served at select restaurants across US. This gorgonzola sauce is prepared using butter, all purpose flour, whipping cream, dry white wine, canned low –salt chicken broth, and Gorgonzola cheese. Pork is baked after searing with ingredients like Dijon mustard, olive oil, and dried thyme. The Gorgonzola sauce is poured over baked pork before serving.

  • Pork Dijon Sauce – Many pork lovers believe that flavors of pork tenderloin can be enhanced by teaming it with Dijon sauce. Browned pork is cooked with sauce prepared using ingredients like evaporated milk, Dijon mustard, and green onions. The cooked pork is with Dijon sauce before serving.

  • Kansas City Pork Rib Sauce – This sauce is prepare in tomato base, and its hotness is managed by the addition of cayenne pepper. The sauce is prepared by combining ketchup, water, vinegar, brown sugar, olive oil, paprika, chili powder, garlic, and cayenne. The sauce is poured over pork ribs before serving.

  • Coco – Cola Barbecue Sauce – This special sauce has garnered much attention over the years due to its unusual taste. The sauce is prepared using coco – cola, ketchup, white vinegar, onion, black pepper, brown sugar, salt, and chili powder. This sauce is usually poured over barbecued pork, beef, or steak before serving.

  • Pork Fruit Sauce – This classic American pork sauce dish is served during special occasions. The pork roast is drenched in fruit sauce before serving. Fruit sauce is prepared by cooking apple jelly, apple juice, ground cardamom, dried apricots, cornstarch and water. The fruit sauce entrenches flavors of pork roast.
